Civic Issues
Topics getting the most attention in Richfield public meetings, ranked by how frequently they are discussed.
3 issues in general with high priority
Alcohol in City Parks Ordinance
A first-reading ordinance would update rules on alcohol in city parks; the final vote comes July 14. Council discussed pool-area restrictions and event security requirements before agreeing to keep the draft as written.
Wildlife Feeding Restrictions
Richfield just expanded its rules against feeding wildlife, so tossing seed or snacks to deer or ducks in your yard could now get you in trouble. The city is cracking down to reduce conflicts with habituated animals.
Short-term Rental Regulation
Richfield is moving to ban weekend home rentals, which means Airbnb-style short stays could be off the table. If you rent your place out or rely on booking short stays in town, this could hit you directly.
