Pedestrian crossing at 12th Avenue South and railroad
A resident said she has no safe way to cross 12th Avenue to reach the walking path, with no crosswalk near the railroad tracks and blocked sight lines. Staff will ask the traffic engineer whether a crossing or ramp is feasible, though the railroad and stoplight make it tricky.
Pedestrian safety and sidewalk request on 30th Avenue South
A resident wants a sidewalk on the south side of 30th Ave S along Village Green Park, citing safety problems for pedestrians on Village Green Blvd. The request now sits with the council; no action was taken tonight.
Citywide street striping and neighborhood overlays
The council approved change orders for the 2026 Citywide Striping Project and final wearing course overlays on streets in the Prairie Parkway 1st, Prairie Meadows 7th and Village Green 7th Additions. These are the final paving steps for those neighborhood streets.
40th Avenue South Mill & Overlay and Roundabout
The council advanced multiple street projects, including the 40th Avenue South mill and overlay, with public hearings and bidding to follow. Expect construction and related assessments later this year.
